When I first got mine it had similar issues. I called them and they took it back and replaced it and the second one I got was perfect and I haven't had any issues with it since. I heard they upgraded them or something, I'm not really sure. But I also have their side tent (vastly superior to the "r-dome") and as soon as they come out the the rear tent for my garage hatch that'll be next. But just give them a call. They were pretty easy to deal with for me...
