Thanks for the reply, Furpod. I did check out the hose coming off the left side of that valve. And it did indeed go nowhere. I pulled it all the way out and it gives enough length to go into a gallon jug of antifreeze. I guess the clear fitting between the pump and the valve is a sight tube to show the pink antifreeze being drawn into the pump. The straight ahead hose at the same valve goes into the top of the fresh water tank. So now I know a bit more about the process of winterizing. Thanks again.
