As someone who hitches and unhitches a lot, I have one helpful tidbit of advice.  Go to your local hardware store and purchase a cordless "driver" gun.  Looks just like a cordless drill, but if designed to drive screws, bolts, etc...  With that, get a socket adapter (it may come with one) and a 19mm socket to fit.  Use this driver to run your stabilizer jacks up and down.  Much faster and easier.

The only time I don't use the driver for the jacks is if I arrive at a campground late or leave early.  They are a touch loud and I don't like to disturb my neighbors.  Smile

When you're scanning for channels using the rooftop antenna, make sure you have the channel type set to "air".

When winterizing try using compressed air, total time to do this is maybe 2 minutes from hooking up the air chuck to the 3 way valve under the sink to unhooking when you are finished.  I use about 1 pint of antifreeze to put in both my sink traps.  No more nasty antifreeze taste come springtime.  We had to do a few flushes using white vinegar to rid the tank, lines of the terrible after taste of the bleach, and or antifreeze.  Have used compressed air to winterize for the past 4 years with no problems.

I asked about the adapter because I saw on the 5X information that one was available. The gearing of the 5X must be okay if Trailer Valet sells it.  Since the 5X has two gears (high or low), it would likely work fine. I understand now why you were asking about the Enduro. It would add about 88 lbs to your R-Pod. In addition, there are control parts to be mounted inside (presumably, drilling holes through the floor through which to run wires). With the limited space inside an R-Pod, this might be a problem. I think your $600 Enduro might wind up costing significantly more when you figure in installation. A single 12-Volt battery would likely be insufficient to run this. Dual 6-Volt batteries would likely be needed to support the current demands (from one of the reviews referenced on the web site). However, you know your needs best.

What did  you add to your floor to remove the soft/spongy feeling in the hall section?

I have heard of people laying laminate flooring? Do the floor supports on the Rpod run East and West (from door to cabinet?) as opposed to North and South (from the dinette to bed or hitch to rear)?

This is what I got: Jack Quick. I have not had the chance to use it on the road, but in my driveway, it works very well. It seems to be well built, have sufficient power, and is sufficiently fast. The reviews were pretty good. It comes with a cover. It was also quite reasonable in price.

I had a leak in my seal around the "basement" pass through storage door in the rear. I had the seal replaced and always used both the thumb and key locks to tighten down the doors and haven't had any more problems

There are two possible causes you should check.

First, remove the drawers and check the tightness of your faucet connections.

Second, on the side closest to the refrigerator, there is a panel that hides the electrical connections and the outside shower connections. Remove that and check the shower connections. I had a leak there. When the outside shower connections were made, the water lines were just brought up and attached by just bending the lines. This puts a lot of stress on them. I re-did it using elbows on the connections so that the water lines come straight up to attach instead of bending.

I think one of these two is likely the cause since you did have RV antifreeze in one of your pictures.

I purchased the BAL Hide-A-Spare to move my spare to underneath between the door and rear of our 179. There was a large space suitable for this purpose. I am waiting for some missing parts for mounting the spare to the carrier. Once I complete it, I will post pictures in my mods.I actually got the 28210 model, which is a little shorter. I still ended up having to shorten it so the 28215 model would work fine. It would require cutting the tubing and drilling new holes. If you have the tools, it is not too difficult. A little touch-up paint helps also.

The plugs are either 1/2" or 3/8" plumbing fittings which are slightly different than other threaded things.
I have been tricked several times by those small differences.

I still have to get out and look but the yellow balls help me get close.  Lots cheaper than the TV camera.

Hate to throw out a $150 panel.  My wife would like me to replace these with suitcase style panels that would be easier for her to handle.  Anyone had a similar experience?  Any suggestions on what to do?  Any recommendations on replacement panel or panels?

Shattered glass on the front of the panel will typically reduce the panel's output by around 50%, so it's still definitely useful, just not as much.  Unfortunately, there's no cost effective way to fix the panel.

If you look at the OP in this thread (http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=5017&title=connecting-a-100-watt-solar-panel-to-zamp-port), you'll see that I attached my panel to a homemade PVC stand, which would generally prevent the kind of accident you experienced, though a large enough gust of wind would still lift it.

I think that it's hard to do better than a 100 watt Renogy panel from Amazon for ~$150.

Since I use a 1/2" 18v drill to run my stabilizer jacks up and down, I took the crank off the tongue jack, put a nut on it, and use my drill to raise & lower it.  Works great.

A lot of the new cars come with a backup camera. We got one with our 2016 Ford Escape SE. It has been extremely valuable. I had often thought of adding a camera. Now that I have one, I would not want to be without it. I thought about the yellow balls, but with the camera, I don't need them.

...resistance creating heat. You'll have to change the POD receptacle out and maybe even the feed line. I'm not pretty sure the plugs on the feed-line have to be the molded (sealed) type to qualify to outdoor use. Good luck Sir!

Thanks so much for all the great info.  I too started having the fridge beep.  I stopped it by defrosting fridge as we were in Pacifica, Calif. with heavy fog.  Still beeped - dried real good inside and adjusted door - still beeped.  Unplugged camper and turned off battery switch for 5 minutes - no beeped now for 24 hrs.  I will be going to the store for dielectric grease, silicone, and drill bit in case it starts again.

I had a leak in my plumbing vent/AC that came into the hall outside the bath of my 2010 171 Rpod and created about a 2'x2' spongy area in the floor. When I look at the factory video, it shows the floor is some scant aluminum frame with styrofoam and thin sheet of luan? I'm thinking of trying to fix the spongy floor by laying laminate flooring on top of the vinyl. Has anyone done this or have any thoughts?

Several Owners have added laminate locking floor to the Pod to help with that actually.  I've seen it in at least 3 Pods before.  It looks really nice.

Thx for quick reply. I noticed ur n Lou. Have u seen any Ky Rpods with laminate? And do u know what material/thickness of laminate was used? Would it be run perpendicular to/across the floor joists as opposed to aligned with the floor joists?
