I remember someone posting a swivel mount option that bolted to the existing TV mount for a 179 allowing the TV be angled down. Any help would be appreciated.

Podmods, Maintenance, Tips and Tricks : Weight distribution hitch

When I first got my 179, I was actually talked out of getting a WDH by the dealer because the trailer is so light and told just getting the sway bar.   What I learned is that the WDH isn't just for the tongue weight (and the sway).   I had no problem with my regular hitch with a sway bar, but what you do notice is those back roads where the trailer can rock up and down like a gallop girdy.   I finally bought and installed the 4-way equalizer hitch and just came back from a 1k round trip between Portland, OR to the boon docks up the St. Joe river in Idaho close to Montana--noticeably smoother ride.  I probably will add another washer to make it a bit firmer, still.

Again, it's not as much for the tongue weight, but the see-saw as well (and, of course, you get sway control as well).

I am not a big fan of silicone sealant and would be very careful in using silicone around electrical connections. Do not use any of the silicone with an acid cure (acetic acid, smells like vinegar). Use a neutral cure, non-corrosive silicones if you have to. I did not have any beeping with my refrigerator, but I did not want to have the problem while on the road, so I coated the led board with Plasti Dip Liquid Tape, as it says in there brochure, Provides excellent protection from acid, alkaline, and abrasion, Seals out moisture and salt , Strongest dielectric protection on the market, Protects electrical connections on wires, cables, alarms, electronics, Will not harden, unravel or become brittle in extreme weather conditions. Other good one are Performix, Electrical Liquid Tape and Star brite Liquid Electrical Tape (this one comes in clear)

Traveling to strange CGs you also need a water pressure regulator. Most CGs don't exceed 60 psi, but I'm sitting in a state park with 100+ psi pressure. A water filter, pressure regulator, and surge protector and you're good to go.

This last weekend we were in a sweet COE park in TN, my tattletale on my pressure gauge was at 85psi when we were packing up Sunday.. It spiked at some point between then and Thursday morning when I hooked up and had a solid 45psi.

We are new to the travel trailer world and have a 2016 182. We mostly plan on going to camp sites with electric, but hope to do some boondocking next spring. I understand the basics of propane and the difference between AC- DC. I understand that it would take a larger generator to run the AC than we care to buy at this point in our journey. But I do have some questions about the battery and charge. If we put the fridge on propane, and everything else on battery, we will basically just have lights and the Jensen radio pulling power I think. If I leave the car hooked up to our 7 pin and running for a couple hours here or there, would that be sufficient to keep the battery charged? I also have a 12 volt battery jumper/air compressor that I use on the boat or car when the battery gets low. If I hook this up to the Rv battery( not while the car is hooked up) , will it act as a second battery? Sort of like having two batteries?
And my final question is about using a 1500 watt inverter. It is meant to be hooked to the car while running and has three 110 plugs to run small things like tv or computers. I originally bought it as a back up in case our power went out during a hurricane. A poor mans generator, I guess.  Can I hook this inverter to the Rv battery while the Rv is hooked up to the 7 pin and getting some sort of charge? Or does it need to be hooked up directly to the car battery? Thanks for any help in understanding how these systems interact.

If you are going to use the tow vehicle as a "generator", use jumper cables and not the 7 pin.

A 1500watt inverter is pretty large, a smaller one would be better. The danger/issue with a 1500watt inverter on a single or even dual batteries @ 12v is it has the ability to pull a butt load of amps, more then a 12v lead acid system can sustain for any length of time. A 150watt inverter would run the loads you are asking about.

Thanks for the inspiration for a custom awning.  We live in the mountains near Denver so we
had Acme Tent and Canvas make our awning.  Fits in the awning rail just like yours.
Details are:
- Attaches to 179 awning rail
- 10' wide, 8' deep
- Support poles are adjustable to a max height of just under 8'
- We have a middle grommet in case we need a third support pole.  On our test
drive we seemed fine with two.
- Fabric is a super light acyrlic awning fabric.  Fold up and fits in a small
canvas bag

I ran the fridge all day on propane and made ice in the freezer without any warning lights. I must have had something wrong this past weekend. I made sure to burn the stove a minute or so before lighting the fridge this time. Fired right up!

My solution was to make my own. It isn't as deep as the ones above as I was trying to make it with one piece of fabric. It also had to be workable with the support system I made for it. Pictures are in my mods. This is the specific link to a description and pictures.

My goal was to have an awning that would keep us dry going in and out if it were to rain. I would not be able to fit a table under it, but if I were inclined, I could carry a separate pop-up for that purpose.

Have had the same problem. It won't light with gas and the gas reset button does not appear to work. The water will heat with shore power, but now that I've set the black button to "on" I can't shut it off. The electric reset button also does not seem to work.

About stale gas.  IF you can find a gas station that sells RV gas, then this does not become an issue, it is the same style gas you used to purchase in the 60's and 70's, no alcohol added.  I use it in my chain saw, wood splitter, snow thrower, string trimmer.  We have stored RV gas for over a year, it is still good, no need to add Stabil or anything else.  The only negative is that it is usually about double the price of regular unleaded.  Current price for RV gas in Traverse City is 3.85/gallon, no-lead 87 octane runs about 2.03/gallon.

Question about the A/C
we just bought a 2014 17 something...(I don't remember) but we LOVE it.

My question...I had it plugged in to a normal recep, ya know the standard 3 prong using an adapter.
my A/C kept going on and off every 30 seconds.

I figured that wasn't normal so turned it off.

Do I really need to install a 30 breaker and recep.  dedicated for the camper? for that not to happen.
or is something wrong with the A/C
